🧠 20 teams. 4 hours. 3 winners.
Teams of 3-5 will compete against each other in a thrilling tech start-up competition! With just 4 hours on the clock, teams will use their creativity and innovation to develop their very own tech start-up, utilizing cutting-edge emerging technologies to tackle a variety of prompts — all based on the UN Sustainable Goals for Development. After crunch time is over, teams will pitch their tech solution to a judge for 10 minutes, and answer any questions.
Throughout the competition, teams will face real-world business challenges that will add to their solutions, and put their entrepreneurial skills to the test! Additionally, teams will submit milestones of their work for evaluation, which will all add up to a final score.
At the end of the competition, the top 3 winning start-ups with the most feasible, creative, and globally-impactful ideas will be announced, with prizes and awards for other notable achievements.

As the event progresses, students will have a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into emerging technologies from prominent industry figures, including CEOs, startup founders, and student innovators. Each speaker will deliver a 30-minute keynote speech, focusing on global ideas, emerging tech topics, and sharing their own personal success stories.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during allocated time slots, making it an engaging and interactive learning experience. The tech conference will cover a wide range of topics, from artificial intelligence to space exploration. Students can expect to learn about up-and-coming technologies that have the potential to create groundbreaking breakthroughs in the future.

Explore Tech
Explore and delve into different emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, bionics, and more. At Tech Hours, you will not only hear from speakers, but you'll also compete against others as you solve global problems. You can expect to delve into a variety of technological concepts, while gaining insight and feedback from mentors to guide you.
Compete Against Others
In a 4-hour window, you and your group (3-5 members) will devise a viable tech solution to your given prompt and pitch it to judges, as well as submit research and prior work for evaluation. With a total of 20 teams, 3 winning teams will win $500+ in prizes, as well as the title of being the first ever Tech Hours winners!

You can expect to learn about emerging technologies, as well as develop new perspectives and mindsets to help you drive change in the world. Want to hear from CEOs and innovators impacting the world? Become an Entrepreneur
As a student, you will gain experience in research, design, brainstorming, and presenting. The techathon competition puts you in the shoes of a real tech start-up and the challenges that they experience. You will develop your interpersonal skills as you work alongside other like-minded students.
Network With Others
Meet new people and build your circle with other like-minded peers that take the initiative to learn. You will have the opportunity to network with other students that are interested in technology and entrepreneurship, along with experts and sponsors within the field. Worried about getting hungry? With a jam-packed weekend filled with competition and learning, we provide FREE breakfast and lunch for all student attendees while keeping dietary restrictions in mind. Catered food services will provide delicious meals for students attending.
